NTA Conducts JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Exam Today: Guidelines to Follow at Exam Centre

The National Testing Agency (NTA) kicks off the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session 1 today, January 22, with Paper 1 (BE, BTech). The exam is scheduled in two shifts: Shift 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Shift 2 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The NTA has outlined specific exam-day guidelines, including the dress code and a list of essential items to carry. Students must bring their admit card, a valid photo ID, self-declaration form, and non-Aadhaar declaration to the exam centre.

The exam takes place across 284 cities in India and 15 cities internationally. The question paper, following the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern, includes 75 multiple-choice questions divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with a total of 300 marks.

Exam-Day Guidelines:

  1. Arrive on Time: Reach the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on your admit card.
  2. Adhere to Regulations: Avoid unfair practices during the exam. Violations will lead to cancellation of candidature and legal action.
  3. Gate Closing Time: Entry is prohibited after the gate closes.
  4. Exit Rules: Leave the exam hall only after the invigilator's instructions.
  5. Religious Attire: Arrive early if specific attire is required for religious or cultural reasons to allow for thorough checks.
  6. Mandatory Documents: Carry your admit card, undertaking, valid ID proof, and PwD/PwBD certificate (if applicable). Scribes must bring their self-declaration and ID proof.
  7. Prohibited Items: Do not carry personal belongings, including electronic devices or mobile phones. The exam officials are not responsible for their safekeeping.
  8. Bio-Breaks: Undergo frisking and biometric attendance upon returning from bio-breaks.
  9. CCTV Surveillance: All exam centers are monitored via CCTV and equipped with jammers.
  10. Admit Card Submission: Submit your filled admit card in the designated drop box before leaving the exam hall.
