If you’ve been exploring MBBS abroad options, chances are Russia has already come up more than once. And honestly, that’s where things start getting confusing. There are so many universities and on paper, most of them look almost identical, with similar fees, same course duration and all claiming to offer quality education. But once you dig a little deeper, you realize that not every option is actually the same. So instead of throwing a long list at you, let’s go step by step and keep it simple.

The name sounds similar to Kazan Federal, but the approach is a bit different. This university is more focused purely on medical education. It’s a straightforward environment  you go there to study medicine and that’s pretty much the focus. This is another option that students look at mainly because of affordability. A large number of Indian students go here every year, so the environment feels more familiar. That makes the transition smoother, especially in the beginning. Still, like any university, the outcome depends more on how seriously you take your studies.

9. Far Eastern Federal University

This one stands out mainly because of its campus and infrastructure. Compared to many traditional universities, it feels more modern and updated. If environment and facilities matter to you, this can be a strong point. The location is a bit far from central Russia, so that’s something to keep in mind.

10. North-Western State Medical University

Being in Saint Petersburg gives this university a clear advantage. The city itself offers better exposure, better hospitals, and overall a more developed environment. For many students, that makes a noticeable difference. It sits somewhere in the mid-range category, not too expensive, not too basic.

There’s no single “best” university here. Some students go for reputation, some for budget and some just want a place where they can adjust easily. The right choice depends on what matters more to you, not what looks best on paper.
