CBSE to Begin Class 10, 12 Board Exams Tomorrow; Check Guidelines and Security Measures Here

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will commence the Class 10 and 12 board exams tomorrow, February 15, 2025. The Class 10 exams will start with English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature), while Class 12 students will appear for the entrepreneurship exam.

CBSE will conduct the exams in a single shift, lasting three hours from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Students will receive an additional 15 minutes to read the question paper. This year, CBSE released the Class 10 and 12 exam date sheet 86 days before the exams.

CBSE Admit Card Guidelines

Students must carry their CBSE admit card 2025 and school ID for entry into the examination hall. CBSE issued the admit cards for Class 10 and 12 board exams on February 3, 2025. Schools can download admit cards for regular students from the Pariksha Sangam portal, while private candidates can access theirs through the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in. Regular students who have not yet collected their admit cards should obtain them from their respective schools.

Exam Schedule and Security Measures

The Class 10 board exams will conclude on March 18 with subjects such as Computer Applications, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence. The Class 12 board exams will end on April 4 with the Psychology paper.

CBSE will conduct the board exams for approximately 44 lakh students across 8,000 schools. To enhance exam security, all centers will be equipped with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance.

Amid reports of a syllabus reduction for Class 10 and 12, CBSE clarified that the syllabus remains unchanged, dismissing claims of a 15% reduction. The board also confirmed that no open-book exams will be introduced this year.

Prohibited Items in Exam Hall

CBSE has also issued strict guidelines regarding prohibited items in the exam hall. Students cannot bring electronic devices, including mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, and cameras. Other restricted items include written or printed materials, wallets, handbags, and any food items except those permitted for diabetic students. Students with Dyscalculia may use calculators as an exception. Any violation of these rules may lead to the cancellation of both the current and the following year’s exams.
