NTA Denies Re-NEET UG 2026 Rumors, Issues Official Update
The National Testing Agency has released an official press statement regarding reports of alleged irregularities connected to NEET UG 2026. The agency said that the examination was conducted smoothly across all centres in the country and assured students that the integrity of the exam remains protected.
According to the statement, the NEET UG 2026 examination held on 3 May 2026 followed strict security protocols. NTA mentioned that question papers were transported in GPS-tracked vehicles with unique traceable watermark identifiers. The examination centres were monitored through AI-assisted CCTV surveillance from a central control room. In addition, biometric verification of every candidate was carried out and 5G jammers were installed at centres to prevent any unfair activities during the exam.
The agency further stated that it received inputs related to suspected malpractice activities around the examination on the evening of 7 May 2026, nearly four days after the exam was conducted. After receiving the information, NTA immediately shared the details with central agencies on the morning of 8 May 2026 for further investigation and necessary action.
The statement also noted that the recent actions taken by law enforcement agencies, including reported detentions linked to the case, are part of the ongoing investigation process. NTA clarified that it is fully cooperating with investigating agencies by providing examination-related data and technical support whenever required.
NTA emphasized that the matter is currently under investigation and requested candidates, parents and the public not to draw conclusions before the inquiry is completed. The agency said that any findings or further action recommended by the authorities will be examined carefully and disclosed through the proper process.
Addressing students directly, NTA said that the hard work and honesty of lakhs of NEET aspirants should not be questioned because of isolated reports of malpractice. The agency acknowledged that such reports can create anxiety among students and parents but appealed to everyone to remain calm and allow the investigation agencies to complete their work.
The examination authority also assured that any future steps related to the matter will be taken in consultation with the Ministry of Education. NTA reiterated its commitment to conducting fair, secure and credible examinations across the country.
